Green Tea Benefits for the Heart

Recent research has discovered that drinking green tea can benefit the cardiovascular system and promote longevity in people who have had heart problems as well as those who have not. Previous research has looked at the benefits of green tea on heart health in people with no history of cardiovascular issues, as well as its potential to provide longevity benefits.

In this new study, the researchers analyzed data of more than 46,000 participants aged 40 to 79 from the Japan Collaborative Cohort Study for Evaluation of Cancer Risk (JACC study), which was conducted in 45 communities across Japan. The participants were divided into three groups depending on their heart health and history, and their consumption of green tea and coffee was examined.

The results showed that green tea consumption provided benefits for the cardiovascular system. Those with a history of heart or other cardiovascular issues who drank one cup of coffee per day had healthier hearts than those who didn’t drink any coffee. Those who had always experienced good heart health who consumed one or more cups of coffee per week enjoyed heart health benefits compared to non-coffee drinkers.
